CREATING AN ARCHITECTURAL PLAN FOR THE PROVIDED PLAN SIZE AND DEVELOP RELEVANT STRUCTURAL DRAWINGS

    AIM:

To design and draft a Residential building with a plot size of 60'x20', facing East direction

    The different drawings are

    1. Architectural Drawings:

    • Plan
    • ELevation
    • Sections

    2. Structural Drawings:

    • Column plan
    • Footing plan
    • Beam plan

Commands used are Line, Rectangle, Offset, Trim, Dimensions, Text, Layers, Circles, Copy, Mirror, Extend etc.,

    PROCEDURE:

    Step 1: PLOT

    • Open a new drawing file and set the limits and units as deciaml meters
    • Draw a rectangle with dimensions18.3mx6m
    • Now give a offset for getting the building proposed area
    • Mention dimensions and directions

    Step 2: PLAN

    • Draw a rectangle with the proposed building area
    • Give an offset of 0.25m for exterior wall thickness
    • Using the Offset command required bedroom, toilets, kitchen are drawn with an inner wall thickness of 0.15m
    • Trimoff the unwated lines
    • Now draw doors, windows, ventilators using line command and place them in the required positions
    • The door dimensions are MD: 1.5x2.1m, D1: 1x2.1m, D2: 0.7x2.1m
    • The window and ventilator dimensions are 1.5x1.2m and 0.7x0.6m
    • Now add layers andtext
    • The obtained drawing is the plan of the resindential building

    Step 3: ELEVATION

    • Project the wall lines to draw an elevation
    • Draw a horizontal line and gvie an Offset of 1m for the plinth level, 2.1m for the lintel level, 3.5m for the floor level and 0.6m for the parapet wall
    • Draw doors and windows with the dimensions and trimoff the unwanted lines
    • Give hatches to complete the drawing

    Step 4: Sections

    • Draw sectionA-A and section B-B in the plan
    • Now for drawing Section A-A
    • Project the lines from elevation and section for horizontal and vertical lines
    • Draw the doors, windows, columns with the dimensions and add hatches

    • Similarly for section B-B repeat the above procedure and draw the section B-B

    Step 5: COLUMN PLAN

    • Copy the plan and draw centerline for the walls and delete the unwanted lines
    • Draw a column of size 0.25x0.25m and place in all corners of the wall and intersections of walls
    • Now mark the gridlines as 1,2,3,4,5 and A,B,C,D,E uisng the circle command insert text in it
    • Dimensions are mentioned

    Step 6: FOOTING PLAN

    • Copy the column plan and draw an isolated footing of size 0.5x0.5m and place them in the center of the column

    Step 7: BEAM PLAN

    • Copy the footing plan
    • Connect the columns by beam width of 0.25m as the wall thcikness is 0.25m.
    • Plinth beam is provided below all the beams

    RESULT:

THE ARCHITECTURAL AND STRUCTURAL PLANS OF A RESIDENTIAL BUILDING ARE
