TO CREATE A LAYOUT, SECTION AND ELEVATION WITH DIMENSIONS USING AUTOCAD

DIMENSIONSIONING IN AUTOCAD:

  • The Linear dimension tool measures horizontal or vertical distances. To create Linear dimensions click the points 1, then 2 to identify the element to be dimensioned. Click point 3 to locate the dimension line. The dimension distance will show the vertical or horizontal distance depending on whether you move your cursor in a horizontal or vertical direction when placing point 3.
  • The Aligned dimension tool measures the length along an object. To create an Aligned dimension click the points 1, then 2 to identify the element to be dimensioned. Click point 3 to locate the dimension line.

  • The Angular dimension tool measures an angle between two objects. To create an Angular dimension select object 1, and then object 2 to identify the elements creating the angle. Click point 3 to locate the dimension line.

  • The Arc Length dimension tool measures the length of an arc. To create an Arc Length dimension, select object 1 then click point 2 to place the dimension line.

  • The Radius dimension tool measures the radius of an arc or circle. To create a Radius dimension, select object 1 then, click point 2 to locate the dimension line.

  • The Diameter dimension tool measures the diameter of an arc or circle. To create a Diameter dimension, click object 1 then, click point 2 to locate the dimension line.

AIM: To create the paln and sections as given by using proper dimensions techniques and dimension styles

PROCEDURE: TO DRAW THE FLOOR PLAN

  • Setup the units and limits
  • The wall layout is drawn using rectangle command and enter the dimensions
  • Take an offset of 250 and draw an inner rectangle
  • Now draw all the required bedrooms, drawing, livilng and dinning rooms
  • Trim off the unwanted lines and required figure is obtained.
  • Now add columns of 250x350 in the necessary places and give hatch
  • The doors and windows of different sizes as per standards are drawn and placed in corect position
  • Now create different layers with required names and assign the properties
  • Add text and dimensions at the required place and completed figure is the floor plan.

TO DRAW THE SECTIONA-A:

  • Take the construction line command 'XL' and draw vertical lines in the required wall positions
  • Now a draw a horizontal line which is ground level and trim off the unwanted lines
  • Take an offset command and draw the floor heights with respective heights
  • Draw columns and place them in correct positions
  • Draw doors and windows with taken dimensions and place them
  • Now draw the stairs as given in picture
  • Draw the remainging objects present in the picture
  • Now add dimensions and texts and the section A-A is obtained

TO DRAW THE SECTIONB-B:

  • Now rotate the plan vertically and draw extension lines uisng 'XL' command in the wall positions and trimoff the unwanted lines
  • Draw a horizantal line which is the ground level
  • From ground level take different offsets and draw the floor heights
  • Draw columns and place them
  • Draw the required windows and balcony in the aligned palces with dimensions
  • Add text and dimensions and the figure is completed.

RESULT:

The plan and sections of the given figures are as follows
