     AIM:

To take the mid surface for all the plastic bottle cap model. And to check the geometrical errors and mesh the mid surface with the given element Quality criteria.

    PROCEDURE:

The Orientation of the given plastic bottle cap model is changed as per requirement.

The cons resolution is provided by the mesh module , length in the perimeter group as 1.

    Geometrical clean up ,

The geometric check as been done. And the errors like unchecked and neddle face are fixed.

The clean geometric is shown below without error.

Measurement is provided to the plastic model as shown in the screen paste below.

New curve has been generated to project it to extract the mid surface for the fins.

Mid surface is created as shown below

Mid surface of the Fins inside the outer ring is achieved by the transform ( ROTATE ) option.

As shown below mid surface of the Fins inside the outer ring is achieved by the transform ( ROTATE ) option.

Mid surface for the whole model is done and the pid is set to the given quality criteria.

Geomentric check is done after extracting mid surface.

The geomentric errors are fixed as shown below.

    Mesh with Quality defects.

    Quality defects has been removed.

Good mesh flow is generated for the outer ring.

Proper mesh is generated for the thread surface as shown.

Generating mesh for the midsurface is done.

And the mesh flow is improved as per the quality criteria.

Arrangement of the thickness for the mid surface is done and the FE component is released from the surface.

There was failed elements near Triple CONS or at smaller regions that are bounded by two Triple CONS. Off elements other than that are removed.

    LEARNING OUTCOMES :

    Idea about cons resolution.

    Proper understanding on the orientation.

Geometrical checks and cleaning the errors.

    Understanding on measuring the thickness.

    Good understanding about curves

    learned how to set COG.

Understanding on Transform ( ROTATE ) option.

Extraction of mid surface for the complex part.

Setting up the mesh parameters and quality criteria.

    Genetrating mesh and improving method.

    CONCLUSION:

The mid surface for the plastic bottle cap model is completed and the geometrical errors and meshing of the mid surface are checked as per the given element Quality criteria.
