11) What is the Analyze toolbar used in Revit? How it is beneficial for design and modeling.

AIM- To get information all about analyze toolbar.

INTRODUCTION-

  • REVIT-
    • Autodesk Revit is a BIM software means a Building Information Modelling.
    • Autodesk Revit used by civil engineers, architects, landscape architects, structural engineers MEP engineers, designers, etc for detailed desiging and drawing.
    • Autodesk Revit is used for detailing of architectural drawings, structural drawings, MEP detailing drawings.
    • Autodesk Revit is used for 2D as well as 3D modelling.
    • It automatically updates floor plans, elevations, and sections as your model develops.
  • Analyze toolbar-
    • Analyze toolbar helps in creating revit models, this toolbar consists of many other options which help in load combinations, boundary conditions, load and cases adjustment and support systems, etc
    • Analyze toolbar includes analytical model, analytical model tools, spaces and zones, reports and schedules, check system, fill color, energy optimization, route analysis, structural analysis.

PROCEDURE-

  • Uses of analyze toolbar in revit-
    • Analytical model tab includes boundary conditions, loads, load cases, load combinations.
    • Boundary conditions used to varify that the boundary condition family types are loaded and assigned in the structural menu.
    • Boundary condition defines point, line and area boundary conditions in an analytical model.
    • Loads used to apply point, line and area loads to a model.
    • Loads used to apply loads by sketching or using host components.
    • Load cases adds and edits load cases for the analytical model.
    • Load combinations adds and edits load combinations for the analytical model.
    • Load combinations used to define its name, fomula, type, state and usage.
    • Energy optimization- It provides clear guidance and direction towards better building energy performance for the entire design team, from concept to detail and design to the operation of new and existing buildings.
    • The main purpose of using the revit to evaluate the sustainability of the building that we modelling so will be interested in evaluating the emergy or energy optimization of the building that we are going to model. Revit offers features such as, it creates an energy model from the features we have modelled in our project and then the energy anlytical model will be based on the conceptual masses.
  • Benifits in designing and modeling-
    • It is used for applying different load types and load combinations as per our requirement.
    • It used to define and verify loads, load cases, load combinations and boundary conditions.
    • With the help of it we can add or edit the load combinations which needs to be applied to analyze the model.
    • It is used to define loads, its name, fomula, type, state and usage.
    • With the help of analyze we can apply load conminations a per our requirement which needs to be applied while designing.
    • Energy Optimization for Revit provides clear guidance and direction towards better building energy performance for the entire design team, from concept to detail and design to the operation of new and existing buildings.

12) What are the links that Revit supports to be linked to the model?

  • The links that Revit supports to be linked to the model are;

    • LINK REVIT:- This allows to link another revit model to the current model, Eg: we can link models together to specify the relative individual building on a campus or to coordinate efforts across disciplines (architectural, structural, mechanical)

    • LINK IFC:- To link IFC file to current model to reference its information for additional design work.

    • LINK CAD:- To link the 2d cad file to current revit file to create 3d by revit tools.

    • MANAGE LINKS:- Provides feature to manage the links to the building models. eg: If we are linking the electrical and structural model to remove electrical from structural, go to link manager and unload the model we dont want.

13) Why do you need the Collaborate tab in Revit? How it supports modeling and its efficiency.

  • With the help of collaboration tab team members can work simultaneously on a model.
  • You can link multiple Revit models together, allowing team members to work in context.
  • Through worksharing, users on the same local area network (LAN) can work together in the same Revit model.
  • When collaboration needs to occur among users who are not in the same geographic location, use Revit Server or Revit Cloud Worksharing.
  • Revit Server connects offices who share a network but are not in the same geographic location.
  • Revit Cloud Worksharing is a cloud-based service that allows any Revit users inside or outside a network to collaborate on a Revit model.
