Aim- To draw geometries using all the coordinates system methods and by using line tool and circle tool wherever required.

    Introduction-

    • AutoCAD-
      • AutoCAD is a commercial computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting software application. Developed and marketed by Autodesk.
      • Before the invention of AutoCAD, all designing and modeling were done manually. This was a time-consuming task and resulted in a lot of costly errors. But, with the invention of AutoCAD, the process of modeling and designing got digitalized and simplified. A technology that has emerged as a solution to most of the designers, engineers, and architects.
      • AutoCAD is used in industry, by architects, project managers, engineers, graphic designers, city planners and other professionals.
      • AutoCAD can work on plans that include creating architectural arrangements for construction purposes.
    • Coordinate systems in AutoCAD-
      • There are 3 coordinate systems which are used in AutoCAD.
      • Absolute coordinate system-
        • This system used when you know the precise X and Y values of the point.
        • Absolute coordinates refers to a Cartesian System that uses x-axis, y-axis to establish the location of points.
      • Relative coordinate system-
        • When you know the location of a point in relation to the previous point. To specify relative coordinates, precede the coordinate values with an @ sign.
        • For example, entering @3,4 specifies a point 3 units along the X axis and 4 units along the Y axis from the last point specified.
      • Direct distance entry-
        • This system is used when you know all the distances between all the points.
        • i.e. by entering the distance of the second point from first point. so on.

     Procedure-

    1. Creating geometries by using Relative coordinate system. (P-1 & P-2)

    P-2

    2. Creating geometries by using Direct distance entry . (P-1 & P-2)

    • Direct distance entry-
      • This system is used when you know all the distances between all the points.
      • i.e. by entering the distance of the second point from first point. so on.

    P-1

    P-2

    3. Creating ALL geometries by using absolute coordinate system.

    • Absolute coordinate system-
      • This system used when you know the precise X and Y values of the point.
      • Absolute coordinates refers to a Cartesian System that uses x-axis, y-axis to establish the location of points.

    P-1

    P-2

    P-7

     P-8

    P-9

     P-10

    4. Drawing the profile and the trusses using absolute coordinate system methods.

    1. Profile- Wood

    2.Queen post truss

    3. Mono pitch truss

    Result-

    1. Geometries P-1 & P-2 are drawn by using all the coordinate systems.
    2. All the geometries are drawn by absolute coordinate system.
    3. Civil related drawings are drawn by absolute coordinate system.
