Q1. Use the Architecture/ Structure Project file developed by you in Week 6 to 8. Export the Revit architecture and structure model to Navisworks Cache file following the export settings discussed in class?
Ans.
AIM - Use the Architecture/ Structure Project file developed by you in Week 6 to 8. Export the Revit architecture and structure model to Navisworks Cache file
Procedure -
1. Open the revit file which we want to export to the naviworks file.
2. Click on file and select export option and choose NWC.
3. Now open Naviworks software and click on open tool from the file menu.
4. Open dialog box appears, type the file which we want to open in navisworks and select the NWC extension and click on ok .
5. Now we can manage and see the components clearly in the navisworks and perform necessary changes.
Result - Revit architecture and structure model to Navisworks is completed.
Q2. Use Navigate Tool to walk around the model and walk through the rooms created and record your moving as animation in your Navisworks file ?
Ans.
AIM - By using Navigate Tool to walk around the model and walk through the rooms created and record your moving as animation in your Navisworks file.
Procedure -
1. Open the architectural file which we want to export to the naviswork.
2. Now click on view point tool and select save view point option.
3. Save the view with appropriate name and click on enter button.
4. Now select walk option and click the curson where we want to start the walk.
5. Now with the help of arrow keys we can move the view in the project.
6. Now we can use record option and record the walk.
7. The picture will be saved as frames.
Result - walk through the rooms created and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file is completed.
Q3. Use Navigate tool to use Realism feature to walk through the model and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file?
Ans.
AIM - By using Navigate tool to use Realism feature to walk through the model and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file.
Procedure -
1. Open the architectural file which we want to export to the navisworks.
2. Now click on view point tool and select save view point option.
3. Save the view with appropriate file name.
4. Now click on realistic option from the ribbon and select third person option.
5. Now select walk option and move to cursor.
6. Now we can use the record option and record the walk.
7. The picture will be saved as frames.
Result - By using Navigate tool to use Realism feature to walk through the model and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file is completed.

a. Run the Clash Detection Test
b. Study the clashes between the two models

f. Save the results after color coding the clashes to the Navisworks file
g. In case of resolution annotate the clash and save the view to defined views in Navisworks

2. Go to home menu and select clash detective.
3. Clash detective dialog box appears.

1. Click on add test option.
2. Now select the files which we want to test and click on run test.
c. List which of the clashes could be approved
1. We can approve the clashes as the part of construction, these clashes will not be appeared any more.
d. List which of the clashes could be neglected ( will be taken care later)

f. Save the results after color coding the clashes to the Navisworks file

Procedure -
1. Open the navisworks file and click on timeliner tool from home menu.
2. Now timeliner dialog box appears.
3. Click on selection tree to select the components and add them to the timeliner.
4. Now click on add task to add the first work in the project.
5. We can add the actual and planned start and end dates.
6. We can select the task type to construction.
7. Once we finish filling all the details in the timeliner dialog box we can click on simulate option.
8. The simulation starts and we can see the construction from the starting date to end date in the form of video.
