Creating Architectural and Structural model with 3D rendering using REVIT

 1) AIM:  Select the type of structure you want to build from one of the three below:
              a. Multi-Unit Residential Apartment
              b. Office Buildings
              c. School

Introduction: build a structure acording to its structural and architectural templet

ANS:  I want to build School Building for a project

2) AIM: Assume reasonable assumptions for geographic and location details for your project modeling. Based on assumptions and type of structure selected identify the modeling                                 requirements from NBC

Introduction: NBC- nashional building code(2005) gives idea of dimension regulation of units

Procedure:

step 1) open the NBCI 2005(group1) for achiv dimensions value under guidline

step 2) rule for lighting and ventilation

           15 LIGHTING AND VENTILATION
15.1 For requirements regarding lighting and

ventilation for different uses and occupancies,
reference shall be made to Part 8 ‘Building Services,
Section 1 Lighting and Ventilation’.
15.1.1 Lighting and Ventilation of Rooms
Rooms shall have, for the admission of light and air,
one or more openings, such as windows and ventilators,
opening directly to the external air or into an open
VERANDAH.
15.1.2 Notwithstanding the area of openings obtained
through 15.1, the minimum aggregate area (see Notes
1 to 3) of such openings, excluding doors inclusive of
frames, shall be not less than:
a) one-tenth of the floor area for dry hot climate;
b) one-sixth of the floor area for wet hot
climate;
c) one-eighth of the floor area for intermediate
climate; and
d) one-twelfth of the floor area for cold climate.
NOTES
1 If a window is partly fixed, the openable area shall
be counted.
2 No portion of a room shall be assumed to be lighted,
if it is more than 7.5 m away from the opening assumed
for lighting that portion.
3 The area of openings as given in (a) to (d) above
shall be increased by 25 percent in the case of a kitchen

step 3) location and strength, area of building

3) AIM: Using the structural model, include the following components based on the type of structure selected
            a. Foundation – Isolated / Wall/Matt Foundation
            b. Columns
            c. Beams Connected to Columns
            d. Roof Framing/ Truss
            e. Floor / Decks
            f. Floor Openings for Elevators and Stairs

Introduction: in structural templet we design unit as structurally for ex design foundation, beam, column, roof framing, floor etc

Procedure:

make architectural and structural templet with base point

step 1) open architectural templet

           open revit software

           then open new project

and select architectural templet and press ok

step 2) open architectural tab

and click on grid for draw

then draw a one horizontal and verticle grid

step 3) specify coordinates point

           go to manage tab

click on coordinates in project location

and select specify coordinate option from that

step 4) specify coordinates point

then click the junction of two grids

and set 0.0 on east/west box

           and click ok

step 5) set project base point

          type VG for visibility/graphic setting

then scroll down and expand site

then click on project base point option

then the base point is apperance on screen

now move it on junction point

and insert 0,0 for all east ns etc for all

Result: we set  set project base point and project shared coordinates for the architectural project

now create structural templet

step 1) open structural templet

           open revit software

           then open new project

and select structural templet and press ok

step 2) open structural tab

and click on grid for draw

then draw a one horizontal and verticle grid

step 3) specify coordinates point

           go to manage tab

click on coordinates in project location

and select specify coordinate option from that

step 4) specify coordinates point

then click the junction of two grids

and set 0.0 on east/west box

           and click ok

step 5) set project base point

          type VG for visibility/graphic setting

then scroll down and expand site

then click on project base point option

then the base point is apperance on screen

now move it on junction point

and insert 0,0 for all east ns etc for all

* Now in structural templet add structural components

step 1) make a grid for our school unit we design secondary school building unit

so open structural templet we are save as name as project 1 structural

draw a grid as per our unit

on specific area as per NBC 2005

then make levels which we required to desgin from

structural levels with specific height

     go to structural tab

    and then choose column

then select at grid for drwa

set base level as foundation and top level as second floor

3) Beam connected to Column

    go to structural tab

    and then choose beam

and draw on grid and select all grids and press ok

then copy the ground floor beam to all floor using copy tab

4) roof framing/ truss

   go to architectural tab

   and choose roof

also select roof level for draw

and select pick line for drawn

 select all external lines

after selcting edge boundry of structure

press ok

5) Floor

open the architectural tab

then choose floor option

choose structural floor

choose ground floor level for draw

choose rectangle for modify draw and draw path and select

prees ok

then copy floor from ground floor to first and second floor

by using copy paste

choose levels

and press ok

6) Floor opening for elevators and stairs

open structural tab

and select shafts from opening

then select rectangle option for opening

and select portion where we required

then select top and bottom constraint and press ok

Result: structural features are done successfull using structural templet

4) AIM: Using the architectural model, include the following components based on the type of structure selected
        a. Wall Layout with appropriate material and finishing
        b. Exterior façade with fancy finish
