Aim:  - To create the geometrical shapes P1 & P2 using all coordinate system methods using line tool, also finding the missing dimensions by analyzing the sample drawings.

    • Civil-related problems- To draw the profile and trusses using any of the four coordinate system methods.

    Introduction:

There are two coordinate systems in AutoCAD: Cartesian and Polar. AutoCAD's absolute and relative coordinates apply accordingly to these coordinate systems. Coordinate Systems: The coordinate system is a system in which numbers are used to determine the unique location of points and/or other geometric elements. Coordinates can also be set in AutoCAD with the mouse by typing (setting) the coordinate values on the command line and
by entering the coordinates using dynamic input. There are three types of coordinate systems. Absolute coordinate systems

    1. Relative coordinate systems
    2. Relative rectangular coordinates
    3. Relative polar coordinates
    4. Direct distance entry

    1. Absolute coordinate system: In this system, all points are placed at a specified distance in the x and y (sometimes z) axes from a common origin (usually 0,0).

    1. Relative coordinate system: The position of a relative coordinate is defined by its distance from a reference In AutoCAD, using this system, the first point of the drawing/geometry is always absolute, i.e., H. it is referred to the origin (0.0) and then all subsequent positions are set relative to their previous point.

    1. Relative rectangular coordinates: it is a coordinate system that specifies each point by a pair of numerical coordinates on the x-axis and y-axis. In this system, periods after the first period are written as '@xy' on the command

    1. Relative Polar Coordinates: This system gives the distance (longitude) and angle of a given point relative to its previous In the relative polar coordinate system, points are specified by typing @distance angle (ENTER) on the command line.

    Procedure:

    1. Creating geometrical shapes P1 & P2 using all the coordinate systems.

    - P1

    1. a) Absolute coordinate system: -
    2. Select line tool from the ribbon tab/ write line in command box, it will show "specify the first point"
    3. Check if the pointer input is in polar or cartesian format and the coordinate system is absolute or not. The coordinate system should be absolute for this drawing.

iii. Enter the first point as (2,1).

    1. Next, the command ask to enter next point.
    2. Specify the next point as (8,1)

Analysis & Design of RCC shear walls in the model using ETABS

    Objective:
