    Aim :

To create 1d element on the rear door.

    Solution :

First we will discuss about the various 1d element present :

1D Elements are simple connections between nodes.
    Standard 1D Elements are:

    1.RBE2 :

Rigid link to transfer motion from the Independent node to the dependant nodes.

    2.RBE3

    3.Beam / Bar :

    Others include :

Now we will create connections for the following  part :

Now you can see the all the surfaces are defined in a single part as shown below :

We will separate this and make different part ids as shown below :

We have assigned different part ids as shown below :

Now we will create connections as shown below :

We will define the connectors at the hinge of the side door highlighted in red as below :

We will create 3d points at the bolting holes using cog command and later convert them into bolt points :

Now we will create a bolt connector as shown below  between the 4 surfaces which are to be connected , we have select 4 parts in place of P1 ,P2 ,P3 and P4 as shown below :

As you can see we have defined P1 to P4  and given it bolt connector property and later realized it . We get the connector as shown below :

In the similar manner we have created bolt connections at the following places :

Now for the hinges we will create rbe2 element which will constrained in all dofs and between these two rbe2s create an element which has freedom to rotate in z direction so that it can rotation of the hinge. We have created rbe2 at the following places :

We have constrained it in all dofs and created an rbe2 element which is in constrained in 5 except in dof of z rotation:

In this way we  have created the hinge joint , now we have applied the rigids elements at the following places :

Now at the doot lock we have created the rbe 2 elements and added a mass at the central rbe2 element as shown below :

Now we create connections for the window region as shown below :

We have created curves for taking reference .

We have converted them into spot lines as shown below :

Now we have created the above connector between the glass and the door as we need to make it rigid and have stiffness in all 6 directions , therefore we have created this :

In the same manner we have connected all 4 sides of the glass as shown :

    Conclusion

Therefore we have added connectors wherever needed.
