1) Select the type of structure you want to build from one of the three below a. Multi-Unit Residential Apartment b. Office Buildings c. school

ans) I chose Office Building

2) Assume reasonable assumptions for geographic and location details for your project modeling. Based on assumptions and type of structure selected identify the modeling requirements from NBC

ans) An integrated office building for 1500 people.

i) Strength of the office is 1500 people including employees, managers, and other team members.

ii) Area per office: 4.8 acre

a) office building area = 16,384 sft

b) Parking = 95,000 sft

c) trees and grass= 98,452sft NBC Requirements Min.

plot size = 300 sq.m with min. width of 15m. The maximum height of the building shall not exceed 1.5 times the width of road abutting plus the front open space, subject to the requirement of front open space of a maximum of 16 m The height of all rooms for human habitation shall not be less than 2.75 m measured from the surface of the floor to the lowest point of the ceiling (bottom of slab) Minimum width of stairs - 1.5m; Minimum tread - 300mm; Max. rise - 150mm The open spaces around the building shall be not less than 4.5 m for heights up to 16 m, with an increase of the open spaces of 0.25 m for every increase of 1 m or fraction thereof in height above 16 m. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

3) Using the structural model, include the following components based on the type of structure selected a. Foundation – Isolated / Wall/Matt Foundation b. Columns c. Beams Connected to Columns d. Roof Framing/ Truss e. Floor / Decks f. Floor Openings for Elevators and Stairs

a)Aim:to add foundation 

Tools Used: structural foundation: isolated at grids.

b)Aim: to add columns

Tools Used: columns at grids

c)Aim: to add beams

Tools Used: beams at grids

d)Aim: to add the roof

Tools Used: roof pick lines

 

E)Aim: to add floors

Tools Used: floor pick lines

 

F)Aim: to add floor opening for elevators and stairs

Tools Used: shaft

4) Using the architectural model, include the following components based on the type of structure selected

a. Wall Layout with appropriate material and finishing

b. Exterior façade with fancy finish

c. Interior partition walls to size rooms

d. Components to add details to the room ( Desk, Chair, Lighting, Plumbing fixtures)

e. Add components such as stairs Elevators

f. Have at-least one side of the building with curtain walls and glass panels

g. Include interior and exterior lighting fixtures

h. Place proper topographic components from outside ( Trees, Parking, Plants) to add details to the model

5) Provide a set of drawings in an architectural and structural model to list the following details with categories and appropriate sheet templates included a. Floor Plans with Annotations b. Elevations c. Sections

6) Using the Rendering settings, Render images of the 3D model produced and include the rendered images to the drawing sheets

a. Rendering from interior rooms

b. Rendering from out showing topographic features
