 Aim: Exploring the GUI of GT-suite

GT-suite can be used in a wide range of applications. There are several industries that are using GT-suite for various applications

  • On-highway and off-highway vehicle

Multiphysics platform

GT-Suite has a versatile multiphysics platform based on many underlying fundamental libraries

  • Flow library
  • Acoustic library
  • Thermal library
  • Mechanical library
  • Electrical and Electromagnetic library
  • Chemistry library
  • Control library
  • Built in 3D CFD and 3D FE

Modern software and unique capabilities

  • Fusion of 1D and 3D simulation in one tool
  • Import solid models in CAD to create 1D and 3D models
  • Performs embedded 3D (CFD) and 3D FE thermal/structural modeling with all the boundary conditions provided by the system.

 

 

2. Locate following settings:

  • Time control flag (5 Marks)

4. Problem: (50 Marks)

    Given

  • Diameter of cooler inlet and outlet pipe= 50 mm
  • Length of the CAC= 1000 mm
  • Inlet mass flow rate = 1200 kg/ h at 100 degC
  • Outlet pressure 2 bar at 30 deg C

 

    • Calculate the Average heat transfer at Charge air cooler (CAC)
    • Calculate pressure drop across CAC
