Automotive Benchmarking is the process of analyzing the choices of similar products based on the selection factor and deducing it to final conclusion
Best Practices for Product Benchmarking for the Automotive Industry.
Product Benchmarking, also referred to as “best practice benchmarking” is an evaluation process of a manufacturer that is measured against the process of its competitors or peers within a given industry. The goal is to create and implement improvement plans and best practices to increase performance in the production lifecycle, and/or other manufacturing and business processes and practices. By discovering the best achievable performance, process gaps can be eliminated.
While product benchmarking in the automotive industry traditionally involves other manufacturers, its primary purpose is to positively impact internal processes. Consequently, benchmarking can be based on internal measurement where cooperative manufacturing process benchmarks of other manufactures is a secondary measure. This goes to the heart to understanding the purpose and use of benchmarking. Often benchmarking is focused on the manufacturing process itself to:
Clearly in any benchmarking study, the choice of which attributes to measure is of paramount importance. This centers on a set of performance measures and often how closely a plant adhered to the “lean production model”. This would involve three primary areas including productivity, quality and time. From this the following best practices can be applied for benchmarking to ensure the right approach and the right outcome measurement.
Benchmarking examples are instances of companies or departments measuring their results against other departments or others in their industry, a practice that can help them understandIng how they're performing compared to their competitor. Our key reasons for benchmarking a business

Nexon Performance
The 1.2L, three-cylinder petrol motor of the Tata Nexon now makes 120 PS of maximum power with a peak torque of 170 Nm. The low-end continues to be lack-luster but the torque build-up is strong once the turbo has spooled. Also, at lower engine speeds, the throttle response could have been sharper. In the Sport mode, you certainly get a stronger performance while the City mode offers a good balance between good fuel economy and outright performance. The Eco mode feels dull at times and we request you to use it for relaxed highway drives only. The ARAI claimed fuel economy of Tata Nexon is pegged at 17.4 kmpl for the manual and 16 kmpl for the AMT.
Nexon Interior
Like the exterior, the interior design of the Nexon looks good. The floating touchscreen infotainment system hosts modern connectivity features like Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The flat-bottom steering wheel is inspired from the Altroz and the instrument cluster with a digital LCD panel is lifted from Tiago and Tigor. That said, even though these digital instrument clusters are a rage these days, we feel that nothing beats the good old analogue dials. Although the unit used in Harrier or Altroz could have been a welcome addition

SAFETY
The Sonet comes with safety features like 6 Airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC with Hill Ascent Control, Vehicle Stability Management, ISOFIX child anchor, Front and rear parking sensors with a rear camera and tyre pressure monitoring system. These are quite modern safety equipment indicating a decent possible safety rating.
CONCLUSION:
From above studies & compared datA TATA NEXON is the best in class vehicle compared to engine performance and safety rating with other competitive vehicles, but interior and infotainment system could be better & petrol variant lags of mileage. If Mr. D. S. Pughazhyendhii can increase his budget I would recommend TATA Nexon Diesel Variant priced 10.5 lacs on road which suits best.
But considering his budget & parameters like Safety, transmission and ARAI mileage the best suited vehicle for Mr. D. S. Pughazhyendhii and his family which comprises his wife, 5-year old kid, his father & his mother is KIGER RXT(O) AMT
